Summer Has Begun!

This is the kids' first week of summer and they have already been swimming twice.  Monday was the first day dry enough and warm enough to venture out to the pool.  Unfortunately, the pool was very cold.  It didn't stop the kids from having fun, though.  Today we met some friends for more swimming fun.  It still isn't warm enough for me to get in past my legs, but summer is definitely here.
Sophie was freezing on Monday.

Father/Son Camping Trip

On Friday Taylor and John Curtis went camping with their friends Matt and Evan.
Mr. Matt was smart and got a campsite right next to the playground.
For hours the boys ran up this ramp, threw off their flashlights, and ran back down to pick them up.
Up they go again

This is so much fun!

Art Museum Field Trip

We have a pretty neat art museum here in San Angelo.  Who knew we were so cultured?  Sophie's class took a trip there on Friday.  I'm not sure how impressed they were, but they had a good time.
Look at that!

Preschool Graduation

Sophie's class had a little graduation ceremony yesterday to celebrate their year.  They showed us what they had learned, received a diploma, and had a slideshow of pictures of the year.  It has been such a wonderful year for her.  It is hard to see it end, but Sophie is excited about kindergarten.

Fishing

Sophie got her Dora fishing pole for her 3rd birthday.  Recently John Curtis has shown some interest in it, so Taylor thought it was time to get him his very own fishing pole this weekend.

He spent some time practicing in the backyard on Sunday.  You didn't want to be anywhere near him when he had this pole in his hands.

Yesterday afternoon we decided to try the new pole out in our favorite fishing hole at the Barron's house on the lake.
The Spiderman fishing pole caught a big catfish.  We weren't sure it would hold.
Sophie was the only one who would go near it.

Fish #3 with the Spiderman pole.  He ventured a little closer this time.  The new pole works great.  Of course it helps that they feed the fish at this particular spot and we throw fish food in when we go there.  It helps for the attention span of a 4 year old and a 2 year old.

Cute Little Dinosaurs

The 4 year old classes at Sophie's school put on a dinosaur program yesterday for the parents.
John Curtis was afraid of the big painted dinosaurs and wouldn't go near them.
