A Batman Sleepover

This year John Curtis wanted to have a sleepover for his birthday.  Since it is such a crazy time of the year we told him he could invite one friend, so Connor came over to spend the night.

 Sophie made her own costume.

Happy 6th Birthday John Curtis!

John Curtis turned 6 on Wednesday.  It was a fun, full day!

 Favorite breakfast!

Elkin wanted to wish John Curtis a happy birthday, too!
Taylor brought him lunch and I came later in the day with snacks for his class.
After school it was present time!

That evening the kids at church went caroling at the nursing home,
 then to Mr. Gatti's.
Happy Birthday big boy!

John Curtis has definitely been a joy and a challenge his year.  He has excelled in school beyond our expectations and his teacher seems to enjoy him.   At home we are learning to navigate his many sides.  He keeps life interesting for sure, living life in extremes, but he is so much fun at the same time. We are excited to see this little one grow up and see what God has in store for all that passion!

Nutcracker and Birthday Weekend

Mom, Dad, Lindsey, and Brian came last weekend to see Sophie in the Nutcracker and celebrate JC's birthday a few days early.

They got here Friday night.  Taylor had Nutcracker duty but the rest of us enjoyed a quiet evening together. The boys decorated gingerbread cookies,
 Masterpiece!
The next morning I made gingerbread pancakes for my gingerbread girl,
 we played a lot,
and then we had a little birthday party.

Mom, Dad, and Lindsey went to Nutcracker Saturday afternoon and then headed home.  I attended by myself Saturday night and then JC went with me Sunday afternoon.  He loved the first act with the party scene and the fighting.  After Sophie danced he promptly fell asleep.

We made these little mice for Sophie's mice cast,
and these bracelets for all the gingerbread girls.
 My beautiful gingerbread girl
 and mouse.
Sophie had lots of wonderful friends come and support her.  It was a wonderfully exhausting weekend!

Tacky Family Christmas Party

Life has been insane lately!  Today is my hibernation day though so I am still in my P.J.s at 11:30, sitting on the couch watching Hallmark movies and catching up on my blog.  A few weeks ago we traveled to Weatherford and celebrated a Tacky Christmas with our extended family.

Gracie got in on the theme.
 Our tacky shirts!

JC just wanted to dress up as Frosty.

We had lots of tacky food.
