Week in Waco

Last week Taylor was speaking at a conference at Baylor so the kids and I tagged along.  We had a great time!
On Tuesday we arrived and went to the dollar movie to see Rio 2.  We had dinner at Pei Wei, shopped a little, then rode bikes around campus.
I took the kids to the zoo on Wednesday while Taylor was preaching the morning worship service.

This baby orangutan was only 2 months old!
After lunch we all went back to school shopping,
and that evening it was more bike riding around campus.
Thursday morning the kids and I had breakfast with a friend and then went to hear Taylor preach.  We had lunch at one of our favorite Waco restaurants, D's Mediterranean Grill.
We spent the afternoon at the Mayborn Museum

Friday morning we got in one more bike ride at Cameron Park before we headed home.
It was a great week to catch up with old friends, rest, and just hang out together.

House Progress: Game Room and JC's Room

We've been working hard these last few weeks.  When Taylor went to Atlanta at the end of June I scraped and painted the ceiling of the game room and Mom came and helped me paint the walls.  When Taylor got back he got busy tiling.  It was a big room!
So this is what this corner looked like when we bought the house.
This is what it looks like now.
This is what the other side of the room looked like...

and now this is our game room.

The view when you walk in the back door
Kids' craft table and finally somewhere for them to hang their art work!

Then last week I finally scraped and painted JC's ceiling and got his carpet pulled up and Taylor spent the weekend laying the tile.  Somehow we had skipped over his room when we started tackling the bigger rooms.
Here's his room when we bought the house,
 and now!

The perfect room for our little boy!
We are getting so close!  We're going to take a few weeks off and then try to knock out the kitchen and Taylor's office and we'll be done!
