Halloween Parade

John Curtis and his classmates got to wear their costumes to school today. After we dropped them off, the parents went into the gym and sat in a semi circle with candy. Then the kids paraded in and went trick or treating. They were so funny! All of the kids had a look of confusion on their faces. John Curtis didn't crack a smile the entire time. When he came to me to get candy, he just looked at me with no recognition on his face. All the kids were so cute! I wish I could post their class picture, but I try not to put other people's kids on my blog without their permission.

Girls' Weekend

Once a year the girls in my family make a pilgrimage to San Antonio where my grandfather is buried. While the Sandlins were keeping the kids last weekend, Taylor and I went to some meetings in Waco, and then the girls picked me up on the way to San Antonio. These trips are great. We shop, eat, laugh, and occasionally do beauty treatments. In the past we have candled each others' ears, done foot soaks, hand treatments, and this year we did the masks. The purpose of these masks were to make us more beautiful, but we were laughing so hard at each other, we couldn't keep them on.
We look pretty scary!

Butterflies

Procrastinating again. Have I finished my project? Nope. Is it due tomorrow? Yep. I think I'll blog a little. Every fall the monarch butterflies come through San Angelo as they migrate south. Last year there were so many of them and it was so beautiful. On Monday as we were coming out of school I noticed quite a few of them in the flower beds. So Tuesday we decided to go hunt for butterflies. Last year there were a ton on the trails by the Lily Ponds, so we decided to take a picnic lunch and see what we could see. There were some, but not the swarms we had last year. I don't know if they haven't made it yet, or if that is all we're going to get this year.

If you look real close you can see the butterflies behind her.
Stopping to rest

Counting and "not peeking"
The best picture I could get of the two of them
John Curtis chasing a butterfly. Can you find it?
I have no idea what he's doing.
Taylor joined us for lunch and "explored" with the kids. Sophie said she was Dora, John Curtis was Boots, and we were Dora's mommy and daddy.

Sophie and Her Class at the Pumpkin Patch

I am sitting here in front of the computer contemplating this big project I have due on Friday. It seems like the perfect time to blog. On Monday, it was Sophie's class's turn to visit the pumpkin patch. They sat and listened to a few stories and then went outside and learned about different types. They got to hold the little ones and feel some of the bigger ones. It's so fun to see her interacting with her classmates. She really loves school.

G-Momma and Poppa Time

Life is crazy busy right now. I have a lot to blog about and will try to slowly catch up. Taylor's parents came to stay with the kids this weekend while we were out of town. Sophie and John Curtis got some much needed loving time with G-Momma and Poppa.

We Love Rain!

On Monday afternoon we went outside to play. Right as we stepped out of the garage, the heavens opened up and the rain came pouring down. I thought it would be nice to sit in the garage and watch it fall. The kids couldn't resist it, though. It happens so seldom.
