Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

In honor of Dr. Seuss John Curtis and I made these hats I found on Pinterest for his class snacks.

 Then on Friday he got to go to IHOP with his class and have green eggs and ham.

 YUM!!!

He actually liked them a lot!

Rodeo Day 2012

It's Rodeo time again!  I do realize these pictures look exactly like last year's.  We bought the clothes a little big so they could last for 2 years.  Some call me cheap, I prefer frugal.  In fact, most of this post will seem repetitive since Sophie has done 2 sock hops and now 2 hoedowns at her school.  If you aren't a grandparent or Chloe Bortzfield who loves to watch "her kids" you might want to move on (all 2 of you!).  You are welcome to stay and watch my girl dance, though.

 

 Dancing has become a huge part of Sophie's life.  This is very strange since she is my child, but it is what she loves.  Between the dancing they do in P.E. the folk dancing during enrichment at school,  ballet 3 times a week, and her favorite Wii game, she dances almost every day.

Happy Birthday, Taylor!

We celebrated Taylor's birthday last weekend in Weatherford.  He had been in Waco all week so we were very glad to see him.

 and we had a nice lunch with the Bortzfields and the Hamiltons celebrating Taylor and Dado's birthdays.

TRIYS

Sophie had her TRIYS competition last week.

This is the morning of the first round with her script in hand that her group had researched and worked so hard memorizing.  Her group made it past the first round and then went on to the Administration Buiding to compete in the second round.

That night they had an award ceremony where her team was awarded a gold medal!

We are very proud of our girls and all they learned through this experience.

Taylor+Alyson+Sophie+JC=LOVE

 In our home Valentine's Day is a family celebration.  We usually spend the Saturday before together as a family, making things, playing games, and eating lots of food.

For the 3rd year in a row Sophie got to go to the Daddy/Daughter Date Night our city puts on.  She loves this night and wore her Daddy out dancing.

  I asked John Curtis what he wanted to do for our special date night.  He chose dinner at home in front of a movie and Chinese checkers.  He's my little homebody!
